API 600 Gate Valve
Gate Valves are general purpose valve types mainly used in systems that require full opening and full closure. They provide uniform flow in the fully open position. Local pressure loss is very low.

- Gate Valves are the fundamental system elements in flow control (on-off process).
- It provides straight passage, pressure loss is very low. The closing element (wedge) moves perpendicular to the pipe axis, interrupts and / or gives way to the flow with this movement. It provides metal-to-metal sealing, unidirectional sealing, mainly wedge and body seats are 3-6 degrees angular position (conical surface).
- They are operated in full open, full closed position. This product group is not used for flow adjustment in half open position.
- They are controlled with Handwheel, gear control, electric and/or pneumatic actuator. The number of opening-closing turns depends on the stem pitch and stroke and the operation time is long.
- Handwheel control is recommended up to 10″ Class 150, 8″ Class 300, 6″ Class 600. After these sizes, the use of a gearbox provides convenience in on-off operation.
